My Color Art Share The Love
Before Carolyn Boettner ever held a paintbrush, she held a dirt clod.
She was born in Pampa, Texas, into a family that had almost nothing — no money for pencils, none for paper. For a little girl who needed to draw the way other children need to run, that could have been the end of the story. Instead, she went out into the yard, found clods of hardened dirt, and dragged them across the concrete until the patterns in her head had somewhere to go. When the family could finally afford pencils, she tore grocery bags open at the seams and pressed them flat, and those brown paper sheets became her first sketchbooks. She never once called herself deprived. She had simply figured out, earlier than most people ever do, that beauty doesn’t wait for permission — or for supplies.
About The Book
Carolyn Boettner
Carolyn Boettner spent over 50 years coloring the world with kindness, imagination, and a tireless devotion to art. Though she left us in December 2024, her creative spirit didn’t stop—it simply waited for a new partner
My Color Art: Share the Love is more than a coloring book; it is a posthumous invitation from a lifelong artist to you. Carolyn believed that art was a “quiet language of a resting heart,” and she spent her final years perfecting the techniques of alcohol markers and pencil blending that fill these pages.
Now, she invites you to pick up your brushes, pens, and pencils to finish what she started. When you add your color to her lines, your hands meet hers across time. This is your chance to merge your artistic soul with hers and help her love reach every corner of the world
